One day he gets an anonymous letter in which wants to play a game that mentions a series mode of murdering, ie. the name of the victims are in alphabetical order. The rest of the film is Chandrasekhar how to nab the culprit.

GRANDMASTER - First and Second half exceedingly packed with Brilliant, thrilling & anxious moments, move in like a Chess Game.Specially the Scene just prior to the Interval and Climax is nice and More over the Climax's sequence reveals the unpredictable and abrupt suspense on spectators.

'The Complete Actor' Mohanlal carry off the role of 'Chandrasekhar' with his performance as intelligent and cool. His Dialogues and Expressions augment the Anxious pace and he is the 'Grandmaster' of this film. Priyamani, Narain, Jagathy Sreekumar, Anoop menon, Babu Antony etc. are handling nucleus roles offering good performances. Relate to All Castings of 'GRANDMASTER', are essential.

Unnikrishnan.B scripts and directs this film quite impressively and the Story is based on an episode of a Malayalam television Series 'BLACK & WHITE', written by himself. Story is finely established and the elements are exactly well-balanced. One of the successes of 'Grandmaster's technical fields are Cinematography, Editing and Music. Vinod Illampilly taken the good visuals which gives the thrilling and grim atmosphere of 'GRANDMASTER' and Editing of Manoj is well trimmed. Deepak Dev done the BG and Musical compositions, are graceful specially the Songs 'Akaleyo...' and 'Aarannu nee...'
Totally, 'GRANDMASTER' wins in all movements and a Gambit.
