'Thira' - Review

'Thira' is a most hyped movie with a lot of expectations that the film is a thriller after a successive venture of Romantic film 'Thattathin Marayathu', by Vineeth Sreenivasan. In my Opinions; Thira is a good rendered only by the Visual impact of  Jomon.T.John and the thrilling tunes of Shaan Rehman. 'Thira' is released on 14/11/2013 and It do not like most of the viewers.

Story
Rohini Pranab (Shobhana) who runs a girls organisation named 'Arpana' and the girls from the organisation are kidnapped by the human traffickers. In the same path a young man, Naveen (Dhyan) who tries to find his Kidnapped sister by the same group. Rohini and Neveen accidentally meet together and they find out the kidnapped girls . See how this happens

Movie Outlook

  • The creators said that Thira is the first episode of Trilogical film and the other parts will be created soon. 'Thira' is dealing story of the trafficking of girls by the kidnappers.
  • The movie is a mixing of almost of the American film 'Trade' and the French action thriller 'Taken', with similar & various changes.
  • The movie's thrilling parts are executed well and It hold the same pace in all.

Acting
  • Shobhana did best as one of her career's milestone and totally she made striking situations.
  • Dhyan Sreenivasan (brother of Vineeth Sreenivasan) gave a good account.
  • Others are fully justified as their roles.

Technicality

  • Director Vineeth tried to make feelings of thrill, partially he won because some contradictions that 'can a women and a boy enter such a dangerous areas of traffickers' stay in criminal securities'; without any arms and save the girls' , I feel it silly.
  • Dialogues are good.
  • The prime positive factor of Thira to watching the film till the end that the Superb Visuals of Jomon.T.John and the Tunes of Shaan Rehman.
  • Other technicalities are good.

Totally,  Actress Shobhana, Stunning Visuals and tunes make you thrills.

Grade :   A Visual treat
Rating:   3 / 5

Geethanjali - Review

Geethaanjali, the film by the combo Mohanlal - Priyadarshan and Mohanlal reprising his famous character 'Dr.Sunny' in famous classic movie 'Manichithrathaazhu'- this leads you to more expectations to watch the film. But after watching this movie it will disappoint you.
I'm disappointed. I expected more that the film is the first horror genre of Priyadarshan and something different. Geethaanjali released 14/11/2013 and the opinions are mixed.

Story
Anjali (Keerthy) and Anoop (Nishan) come to their native land for their marriage. Anjali lives in her house that haunted by a ghost of her twin sister 'Geetha'. This leads her to certain psychiatric problems and  Dr Sunny (Mohanlal) comes to the house and he tries to reveal the truth.

Movie Outlook
  • I early wrote the movie review of 'Chaarulatha', the film is an adaption of Thai horror flick 'Alone'. Geethaanjali is also an adaption from the same with some changes.
  • It frightening you at parts with best shots and high dynamic Sound.
  • The High negative is 'bad acting in Climax which dialogues.
Acting
  • I aforementioned that Mohanlal's character 'Dr.Sunny' is in new case to reveal the real truth about a haunted house / a patient. But he has nothing to do for this.
  • Debut Actress Keerthy looks good, but coming to her acting, she could have trained well. Her smiling is like her mother; Actress Menaka, will bear in u r mind
  • Innocent makes you laugh in his scenes.
  • Other roles aren't noteworthy.
Technicality
  • Priyadarshan has more commitments to his creative side for this film (specially in adding a famous role of Mohanlal of famous classic 'Manichithrathaazhu) He didn't take seriously his job. It is the big letdown. (He tried to make like a just watchable fare). As usual he kept the freshness of frames.
  • The benefits are S.Thiru's visuals, Vidyasagar's songs (not the Bg, which having no traits) and the Sound sections.
  • Screenplay by Abhilash Nair, Dialogues by Dennis Joseph (Specially in Climax) - is poor.

Grade:   Just watch it. No expectations.
Rating:  2.75 / 5

'Philips & the Monkey pen' - ''Lets put u r legs into child shoes''

'Philips & the Monkey pen' is a good children movie and it carrying on the feels of fantasy, nostalgic with moral merits. The film directed by Rojin Thomas and Shanil Mohammed and produced by 'Friday Film House'. 'Philips & the Monkey pen' released yesterday (07/11/2013) and it bagged well opinions.

Story
Ryan Philip (Sanoop) a 5th std. naughty student and he faces many problems in his school, one of it is 'Mathematics' subject. Accidentally he gets a Magic pen named 'Monkeypen' from the antique collections of his grandfather. The pen has speciality that one who carries it is capable to solve the difficult problems. The pen changes the Ryan's life and he become a bright and well mannered boy in School.

Movie Outlook

  • The movie's story, screenplay and in other all manners, is fantastic; nothing more to say.
  • The total part is good
  • The perfect Visualisation is the prime part.

Acting

  • Ryan Philip / Sanoop Santhosh is the show stealer in 'Philips & the monkeypen'. He gives a wonderful acting in the film's every parts.
  • The other children artists are notable; specially The character 'Juggru' performed by Gourav Menon, makes you laugh.
  • Other actors are good in their roles; Jayasurya as 'Ryan's Father', Vijay Babu in the 'Teacher' role, Mukesh as 'Principal' of the school, Joy Mathew as 'Ryan's Grandfather', Ramya Nambeeshan in the 'mother role of Ryan' etc. are fully justified to their characters.
  • 'Philips & the Monkey pen' is enriched with noteworthy performances.

Technicality

  • I felt that the directors and writer approached with well plans and brilliance to this movie making. So it became as a magically good product.
  • The visuals are outstanding by Neil D.Cunha; it's like an Hollywood shots. (specially in 'Robert Bristo Flashback scene')
  • The movie's other sections; Editing by Prejish Prakash, Art by Vineesh Banglan, Musics & Bg score by Rahul subrahmaniam, Co-ordination by Govind.P. Menon etc, are fine.

The technicians showed the Magic with theirs' 'Monkeypen'

Grade:    A Magical 'Philip and his Monkeypen'
Rating:   4 / 5
