'Silence' - Review

Although the movie 'The Power Of Silence', keeps the mood of thrilling, never it has the influence of a Powerful script. 'Silence' is much inspired from the movie 'Cape Fear' (Robert de niro starrer) and some 'hidden Black mailing caller movies' and loosely mixed the movie 'Grandmaster which is Mohanlal starrer. The film is released 07/12/2013 and the viewers opinion isn't satisfactory.

Story
Aravind Chandrasekhar (Mammootty), a well dedicated lawyer who is going to be appointed as Judge. One day he gets an anonymous call threatening him and the caller wants to play a game Hide and Seek. Aravind tries to find out that who is behind the game and what his motive is ?

Movie Outlook

  • The story is inspired from 'Cape Fear' and the situations are created from some 'hidden blackmailing caller' films (Like 'When a stranger calls', 'Phone Booth' etc). I felt silly that the moments just created for some stylish shots 'The car chase, Interval related sequences (These scenes are just to fill up the first half) and the second half narrates to reveal its reason, but what is intended? .The hide and seek game of Caller and the hero trying to solve the case' is like the theme of 'Grandmaster' (instead of 'Calls' it was letters)
  • The Movie is just created for some thrilling shots (Underwater fight, Car chase etc.)
  • If the movie have a well planned script, it would be good.

Acting

  • Mammotty is only the actor who holds the responsibility to hide the movie's faults. He is fully justified to the role 'Aravind Chandrasekhar'.The movie is his role focused.
  • Others acting: Just okay, nothing much to say

Technicality

  • Director V.K.Prakash just brings out some 'stylish making' before the viewers.
  • Y.V.Rajesh's script could have been planned.
  • The Camera by Manoj Katoi and Edit by Mahesh Narayanan are specially mentioned.

Grade:   'The Weak of Script'
Rating:  2.5 / 5
