'Punyalan Agarbattis' - A very little fragrance

Even though the topic is impressive, 'Punyalan Agarbattis' the movie has nothing special in its narrative methods. The movie's story is focused in a young entrepreneur who faces many difficulties to run his business. It resembles 90's Malayalam movies 'Midhunam', 'Vellanakalude Naadu' & 'Varavelppu'. Ranjith Shankar directed the film and Jayasurya playing the protagonist role. 'Punyalan Agarbattis' is an average film.

Story
Joy Thakkolkaran (Jayasurya) is an innovative young businessman whose venture is to manufacturing agarbattis from elephant dung. While he was running his business he faces many troubles like social issues. See how he overcame the difficulties.

Movie Outlook
  • Only the business venture is impressive that 'Agarbattis manufacturing from elephant dung' and the dialects of 'Thrissur' language. It will attract you to watch this film. But the entrepreneur's problems is nothing new.
  • The First and Second half run with the same pace. But some scenes are lagging.
  • The film exaggerates the moral issues. So the Satire is excessive.

Acting
  • Jayasurya's acting has nothing special in his gestures. He again speeches 'Trissur language' like his previous film 'Gangs Of Vadakkumnathan', a segment of 'D Company'.
  • Sreejith Ravi impressively did his role 'Abhayakumar'.
  • Sunil Sugatha's 'justice role' also good.
  • Others have ordinary performances.

Technicality
  • In brief, Ranjith Shankar's direction isn't satisfactory.
  • Sujith Vasudev took apt shots for the scenes.
  • The Music director is Bijipal: Only the Music is good especially the theme song, but the Bg score is mediocre.

Grade:   This 'Agarbattis' have a very little fragrance.
Rating:   2.9 / 5
