'Chattakkari' - Review

'Chattakkari', the film had bagged the remarkable credits in 1974; its remake with same title is directed by Santhosh Sethumadhavan and released today (13/09/2012) . Shamna Kasim (Poorna), Hemanth, Innocent, Suvarna mathew etc. did the new characters and produced by Sureshkumar in his own banner 'Revathy Kalamandir'. 'Chattakkari' received mostly average responses.

Story
The story is the love affair of Julie (Shamna Kasim),an anglo-indian girl and Sasi warrier (Hemanth), a Hindu boy. The rest of the story their relationship get more deeper and Julie gets pregnant. See what happens then?

Chattakkari - the Story is ditto same of the old film and the sequences are arranged in same methods in first and second halves; nothing offers new on it. The film drawback, sequences packed amorphously.

As the Same characters, Shamna Kasim and Hemanth did flawlessly their roles. Actor Adoor Bhasi is firstly bagged the 'Kerala State Award' in the old film's performance, but actor Innocent overstating the same role. Other castings Suvarna Mathew, Harikrishnan, Sukumari etc.just fine.

Albeit, Sethumadhavan has directed the old film with his significant style, his son Santhosh Sethumadhavan's making flippantly handling the new and there has no attractive qualities. Except the altered dialogues in somewhere, Vinu abraham's screenplay lacks the continuity. The film has strong backings - Vinod illampally'Cinematography, Edited by Ajithkumar and Production designs handled deservedly. Another remark is M.Jayachandran composed the lovely soundtracks. Specially the song ''Nilave.. Nilave'' (Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Sudeepkumar).
Overall, 'Chattakkari' is just a remake, nothing offers new

Grade:    A  Light-Hearted Remake of an Everlasting Story
