Megastar Mammootty made a lot to get the attention of the viewers, choose some different and peculiar roles recently. For instance, he performs as a roadside rogue in a new film 'Thappana', which shoot is progressing at major locations in Kerala. 'Thappana' is a Family Drama film, laced with Humorous route, directed by Johny Antony and Written by M.Sinduraj. Belle actress Charmee will be the heroine of Mammooty and Muraly Gopi, Lakshmi Priya, Vijayakumari etc.in this film.

Mammooty again combo with Johny Antony after their previous films 'Thurruppu Gulaan' and 'Pattanathil Bhootham' the jocose entertainers. The script written by M.Sinduraj who famed in Laljose's recent hit 'Elsamma Enna Aankutty'. 'Thappana' is considered as Charmee's second film in Malayalam, first is 'Aagathan' which is a Dileep starrer flick. The film is produced by Milan Jaleel who did the production of most of Johny's films 'Thurruppu Gulaan' and 'Inspector Garud'. Johny Antony announced this project after his film 'Masters' is scheduled to release on 30 March 2012.
