Great Actor and Great Screen Writer cum Director get together with a new Film after a gap of 5 years - the well news for Malayalam Film Viewers ie, Mohanlal and Ranjith again unite together in a new film titled 'Spirit', which shoot starts at Ernakulam. Besides Mohanlal, Madhu, Thilakan, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Nandu, Tini Tom, Kaniha, Kalpana, Lena etc. roped into the Cast list. 'Spirit' is produced by Antony Perumbavoor in the banner of him 'Aashirvad Cinemas' and distributes through Maxlab Entertainments.

Ranjith re-appears as Writer and Director for Mohanlal after his Creditable & Genuine Hits 'Thirakatha', 'Paleri Manikyam', 'Pranchiyettan & The Saint' and 'Indian Rupee'. Ranjith says,''Spirit is Different, Topical Film and Mohanlal's role is a Special for viewers''. Kaniha will perform as heroine and Thilakan takes up the pivot role of this film. At the outset of this film South Indian Actor Prakash raj was assigned to perform a crucial role but later it is replaced by Shankar Ramakarishnan.
