' Gangster ' - Review

"I m gonna make him an offer he can't refuse", the famous dialogue of the classic film 'Godfather', again happened in the movie 'Gangster'. Pls alter it Aashiq Abu. " We refuse this type of offers, Mr.Director "

All build-ups are shattered! Gangster is neither reaches our highest expectations nor entertaining. It is from the director Aashiq Abu and our Megastar Mammootty. The movie is released yesterday 11/04/2014 and the responses are negative.

Story
Akbar Ali Khan (Mammootty) is one of the gangsters in Mangalore and he controlls port deals. Akbar deals his businesses with his partners Mani (Kunchan) and Uncle Sam (John Paul). When Anto (Shekhar Menon), the nephew of Uncle Sam enters for a dealing with Akbar to earn money illegally by importing sub-standard vaccines in lower rates from abroad and to sell it at higher price. But Akbar opposes it. This makes Anto enmity to Akbar and he tries to destroy him. Due to this problems, Akbar takes revenge upon Anto.

Movie outlook
  • The movie lost the gripping within few moments after the starting and then it doesn't engaging until the end.
  • The pace is lagging throughout.
  • The climax is well attempted (specially the animated graphic scenes) but it is overshadowed by certain falls.

Acting
  • Mammootty has to do nothing in the role 'Akbar Ali Khan' other than to express his looks and styles. (the director didn't utilise our Megastar's talent)
  • Shekhar Menon is totally unfit for the 'villain' role and his performance makes funny.
  • Others are OK.

Technicalities
  • Aashiq Abu's treatment is utterly poor.
  • Alby's visuals are apt. The lighting and tones are well for scenes.
  • Deepak dev's BG scores are sync with the sequences.

Grade:   Disappointing
Rating:  1.75 / 5
