'Jilla' - Review

Nothing more to expect any high massive specials from 'Jilla', other than an usual masala movie. The movie is highlighted as first combo of 'Illayadhalapati' Vijay with 'The complete actor' Mohanlal. It released on 10/01/2014 as worldwide and the responses are mixed.

Story
Shiva (Mohanlal) a notorious goon leader in Madurai city. Shakthi (Vijay) is Shiva's right hand and lives like his son. Due to some wicked plans, their relationship is broken and they are separated and become enemies. See how they unite and solve the problems.

Movie outlook
As a Tamil & Malayalam viewer
  • The storyline is just predictable which is packed with usual patterns of mass styles of Vijay. But it could have been made as well.
  • The first half is unbalanced to Second half. I felt the director is trying hardly to follow the script especially in first half.

Acting
                                   As a Tamil viewer
The complete actor Mohanlal's performance is special for Tamil ans. He showed his acting skills before theirs.
As a Malayalam viewer
Nothing expect ultimate fights and mass from Our star Mohanlal. It may disappoint you. The film is focused only for Vijay's macho isms.
  • Vijay usually did his role 'Shakthi' but sometimes he is overdoing.
  • Others have nothing notable performance.

Technicalities
  • Jilla broke the entertainment feel heavily in some parts. Sometimes it is lagged. The script & direction by R.T.Neason could've been doing well.
  • The camera, editing sections are mixed together nicely.
  • D.imman perfectly blended his good BG scores.

Jilla isn't keeping the expectations ultimately.

Grade:   Expect & Watch it as a usual mass movie
Rating:  3 / 5
