'Emmanuel' - Review

'Emmanuel' portrays the oppressive lifestyle of an insurance firm which neglecting the human rights & ethics and existing only for profit. The film directed by Laljose and Mammootty playing the 'title' character. Emmanuel is a good rendering of a significant concept and which opinions are positive.

Story
Emmanuel (Mammootty) working in a book publishing company but in fate that company is closed down and his life falls in crisis. And then he joins in an insurance firm as a business executive and there he meets some difficulties and he tries to overcome them with his goodness.

Emmanuel story is quite good as well as its first half sequences contain simple & soft and second half some more tragic situations which a little dragging, its a tiny drawback.

Mammootty's performance is the best in his role 'Emmanuel' and he creates some hilarious as well as tragic states. (especially the role appears in the interview, events in that firm etc.). Fahad Fasil does a good job in his character as sales head 'Jeevan', easily handles it. The other roles' performances are good like the actors debut heroine Reenu Mathews, Nedumudi Venu, P.Balachandran, Sunil Sugatha, Muktha etc. Mainly actress Sukumari (she left us recently) perfectly handles her role and she makes a standing claps with a superb dialogue.

Lal Jose brings a clean family entertainer for viewers and his making style is good and ravishing. Debut writer Vijeesh.A.C's script is fine which cleanly follows the facing problems of employees in an insurance firm, but the drawback is sentimental workout in second half, is beyond the limits. Pradeep Nair's D.O.P gives a classy and colorful touch and Ranjan's edit is well cut. The Bg and Music of Afsal Yusuf, is nice & apt.

Grade:  'Simple' Emmanuel
Rating:  3.5 / 5
