'Lokpal' - Review

'Lokpal', the man whose fights against the unlawfulness system with a Robinhoodic styles; the film is directed by the veteran Joshiy and Mohanlal is handling the title role. The presence of 'Mohanlal - Joshiy' is the highlight which urging you to see the movie. Saikumar, Shammi Thilakan, T.G.Ravi, Manoj.K.Jayan, Kavya Madhavan, Meera Nandan etc. are handling the other main roles with Mohanlal. 'Lokpal' released on 31/01/2013 and its responses mostly Above-average.

Story
Nandagopal (Mohanlal) is a restaurant owner of Nandus Food Court and also a social activist. He has another face named 'Lokpal' who fights against the corrupted people who amassing wealth illegally disproportionate to their known source of income. See, how Lokpal loots their money and utilize it?

'Lokpal' scripting side is not so impressive but the film is correctly on the racy pace by the making style of Joshiy with  adding some interesting factors. The movie is just bit a lagging before 10 min. of interval when actress Kavya Madhavan's role entering in the story. Kavya's performance, its weak climax & abrupt end, totally affecting the show entertainment - these are the drawbacks.

Mohanlal is the show-stealer with his amusing and simple techniques of acting brilliance. His all getup are exceedingly elegant (The Ticket examiner of the train, a robber etc.), handled toppingly. The villainous roles of Saikumar and Shammi Thilakan are special in their roles' dialects and they perform well. And other male actors Manoj.K.Jayan, T.G.Ravi, Thambi Ramayya etc. good. Kavya Madhavan's acting is more slow up the pace of show and her role breaks the entertainment. Though she is in mild role, Meera Nandan just fills the cup in her acting.

Director Joshiy gives a verve to Lokpal's script with some new methods and the scenes keeps a suspense pace (some are nail biting) his craftsmanship is so upgraded (Joshiy correctly worked out the heroism of Lokpal, the robbery scenes etc.). He is the activator. 'Hats off to Joshiy'. S.N.Swamy missed the main factors and he just reused some old methods to the script. I think that when he penning the 'end' of the film his pen's ink is emptied and the script is stopped (because its abrupt end). The technicalities are superb: Visuals of Pradeep Nair, Shyam sasidhran's clear-cut editing, Ratheesh vega's Bg scores is at best.
Totally, only the presence of 'Mohanlal and Joshiy', holds the viewers in their seats in the show. Don't expect more.

Grade:   A 'Joshiy - Mohanlal' Show
Rating:  3.25/5
