Run Baby Run - Review

Hai Friends,

In Screening, as the title 'Run Baby Run' the film keeps the 'clean-racy thriller', from the director none other than Joshiy. Starring Mohanlal, Amala paul as the principle roles along with Biju menon, Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Sidiq etc. The film released today (29/08/2012) and received positive opinions.

Story
The Story consists the life of a Channel reporter Renuka and the Cameraman Venu. In a special circumstance their life becomes threatening and finally they escaped from the tragedy.

Run Baby Run has a good story which leading as liven sequences in First and Second halves. Especially, end of the first half and climax piece, excellent and high pace and other remark its situations is the suspense.

That is what attracting you to 'Run Baby Run', no doubt it is 'Mohanlal'. By this film not only  Mohanlal's heroism but also he elicited his acting efficiency, always. Amala Paul carefully handled her job as the role 'Renuka' and Biju Menon's role is amusing. Other actors Vijayaraghavan, Saikumar, Sidiq, Midhun etc.are good.

Director Joshiy again proved his adroitness in making and he keeps up his title as 'Master of Shots' in all sequences, permanently. Writer Sachi is independently wrote the Story, Screenplay and Dialogues of this film (From Duo Screenwriters Sachi-Sethu) and exactly he set an hectic Screenplay. R.D Rajasekhar's First-rate Visuals, Well-balanced Editing of Syam, Ratheesh vega's well -timed musical scores and other technicalities are advantageous.

Grade:    Clean-Hectic Thriller
Rating:   3.80/5

THAPPANA - Review

'Thappana', another absorbing pariance of Mammootty film which from the director Johny Antony and Scripted by M.Sinduraj. The film including ensemble castings Charmi Kaur, Vijayaraghavan, Muraly Gopi, Kalabhavan Shajon etc. and it produced by Milan Jaleel under the banner of him Galaxy Films. Thappana released 19/08/2012 and it garnered mostly fair opinions.

Story
The Story about two prisoners Samson (Mammooty) and Mallika (Charmi Kaur). They released in the same day and meet together and spoke each other the reason of their imprisonment. In a special situation samson and mallika joined together for a particular purpose.

Thappana has just a simple Story, First Half containing jocose situations with sufficient entertaining packs and Second Half slightly serious & humours moments which jogs along purposelessly to climax, could have been better. The drawback is the film missed the deeper Story

Mammootty shows his acting brilliance at creating his funny moments which makes you laughable & Clappable and he does more care to handling the sequences. And always his dialogue delivery is special for viewers. Charmi Kaur does a fine job for her heroine character 'Mallika' and other starring Muraly Gopi, Kalabahavan Shajon, Vijeesh etc. are fair. Especially Vijayaragahavan handled his role adroitly.

Unlike 'Masters' is Johny Antony's first film in this year, 'Thappana' is simply good film but his making style affected some mistakes like in night visuals graphics and visual effects (eg: a Car Driving scene which including Mammooty, Vijeesh and Charmi kaur, in the first half). Johny lose his touch to making this film's climax. I think the film needs the apt direction by Laljose who will makes this film as a nice product. While M.Sinduraj's screenplay is simple but the dialogues are lively. in technicalities- adequate visuals and editing by Rajarathnam and Ranjan Abraham respectively. Vidyasagar's BG Scores and Soundtrack are lovely.
Overall, Thappana has more simple factors.

Grade:  'Thappana' is Watchable.
Rating:  3/5

MR.MARUMAKAN - Review

After a Box-Office breaker Hit 'Mayamohini', Actor Dileep and his long-time buddies, duo Screenplay writers Udaykrishna-Sibi.K.Thomas again join together in this year for another flick 'Mr.Marumakan', released today (18/08/2012). Although, the Film having hopeful factors which grabbed a lot of attention from the viewers but it received mixed responses in releasing. No matter, 'Mr .Marumakan' is another minimum guaranteeing film from Dileep in this festival season.

Story
Ashok Raj aka Ashoka Chakravarthy (Dileep),a lawyer who is interested in acting and he has a drama troupe named 'Bharathakalakshetram'. Owing to some Financial problems, he meets a bank ombudsman Balasubramanyam who has to come for legal proceedings against Ashok and Ashok's elder brother Baburaj (Biju Menon). But Balasubramanyam is a friend of Ashok's Father and aito Balasubramanyam undergoes so many problems due to the defiant wealthy wife Rajamallika (Kushboo), daughter Rajalakshmi (Sanusha) and his mother-in-law Rajakokila (Sheela). Ashok forced to plot a plan to teach them a lesson and to save Balasubramanyam from this dilemma.

'Mr.Marumakan' - Story is quite interesting but somewhere the plot slightly inspired from Tamil Film 'Minsarakanna' with many changes, apparently. But the sequences run along with some humorous situations in first half. After the interval, the film drags aimlessly and a bit of boring because it goes in a predictable manner which including enmeshed cinematic cliches and indelible twists & climax.

Undoubtedly, Actor Dileep shows his heroism and existing throughout sequences as the role 'Ashoka Chakravarthy/ Mr.Marumakan' viz in screening, his counteractions against his 'mother-in-law' character actress Kushboo as 'Rajamallika', is effectual and Kushboo done a quotable performance.  As a Heroine Character, actress Sanusha began her career through 'Mr.Marumakan' and she just doing a passable role. Actor Suraj's wits are clappable. While other characters of Sheela, Bhagyaraj, Biju Menon, Salim Kumar, Nedumudi venu etc; usually fine.Considering actor Baburaj, his performances were good in recent films but he overplays his character in this film.

Director Sandhya mohan doesn't offers his ability because he just follows the Udayakrishna-Sibi.K.Thomas's Screenplay which having entertainment contents, but their style of scripting isn't different from their previous filmsEspecially, some sequences twists indicates their films 'Mattupetty Machan' ,'Pulival Kalyanam' and 'Kaaryasthan'. In technicalities, the film has fair backings from D.O.P by P.Sukumar, Editing by Mahesh Narayanan, Music of  Suresh peters. But the film drops the unpleasant Bg score by Bijibal.
Altogether, Mr.Marumakan is an eclat for Family.

Grade:   Showman 'Son-In-Law'
Rating:   3.25/5

SIMHASANAM - Review

Without any changes in his usual pattern ie. A Fixed Feudalistic Hero with permanent backings like 'Fiery introductions, Slow Motion walking, Rhyming dialogues with Hinduism mythology, Hard-hitting actions etc. Filmmaker Shaji Kailas's new flick 'Simhasanam' reached the theatres today (10/08/2012). The film has an All-star castings - Saikumar, Sidiq, Devan, Biju Pappan, Vandana, Iswarya Devan etc. whilst Prithviraj done the protagonist role. Simhasanam produced by S.Chandrakumar and it received mostly negative responses.

Story
Chandragiri Madhavamenon (Saikumar), a one that is treasured in chandragiri village and he has a lot of enemies who trying to destroy his popularity. Thus in a dangerous situation Madhavan's son Arjun (Prithviraj) to extricate his father from his enemies plans. It is the main plot.

Simhasanam's Plot primarily belongs to the Joshiy's films 'Naduvaazhikal' and 'Lelam'. It goes on an usual and predictable manner in First and Second Halves have repetitious and boring sequences. Definitely, all sequences are the well mixture of Shaji Kailas's previous films like 'Aaram Thampuran', 'Narasimham', 'Thandavam' and some of his political thrillers.

There is nothing offers a quotable performance from Prithviraj's role 'Arjun', he just keep the heroism and the other characters of Saikumar, Sidiq, Devan, Thilakan etc. Actresses Vandana and Iswarya Devan aren't out-standing.

Due to the continuous failures,Shaji Kailas took the script charge firstly for 'Simhasanam', but it ended in another failure. There is no wonder factors in his making style other than, it moves on by flicker camera shots, double - quick editing etc. and the characters are much inspired from his permanent imaginary concepts of Hero,Heroines, Villains and other mild roles. Especially the melodramatic sequences would remind you as a xerox, indeed. (eg. Films 'Aaram Thampuran'- Love track & Action, 'Narasimham'- Dramatic scenes & Climax' and Some feudalistic scenes & Villains of 'Thandavam' etc.). As aforementioned, films 'Naduvaazhikal' & 'Lelam' plot presenting with few changes. What's most annoying is the poor technicalities which recalling the previous films styles of Shaji Kailas - Camera handled by Shaji, Saravanan Dft. and Vishnu Namboothiri, Editing by Donmax and the out-of-date Bg scores & Musics of Ronnie Raphel and Bijibal.

Grade:  Naduvazhikal + Lelam + Aaram Thampuran +Narasimham + Thandavam + etc.= 'SIMHASANAM'

TOTAL RECALL - Review

Hai Viewers,

The film from the Director of 'Underworld' & 'Underworld-Evolution' and Co-Creator of Underworld's other two series, Len Wiseman, Screenplay by Kurt Whimmer and Mark Bomback. Collin Farrel, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Beil have done the leading castings for Total Recall which garnered mostly mixed with favourable opinions.

Story
The film follows on the Earth has been divided into two sources 'United Federation of Britain' and 'The Colony' by the devastating world war at 2084. Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrel), a inhabitant of 'The Colony' and a factory worker who is dis pleasured by the incubus in his sleep and then he decided to implant his memories for exempting the monotonous life. Therefore he visits 'Rekall' Centre and implanted with memories as being a secret agent. This is the turning point of the plot.

Total Recall - though it is based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Total Recall', differently blends some situations and the plot much loosely belongs the Philip.K.Dick's short story We can remember it for you Wholesale'. However, the film's atmosphere is new.  A fairly good theme with Story which visualizing an excellent imaginary background and Sequences, awesome pieces.Certainly within minutes, the film would ride you as a 'racy action thriller'. More over, the 'chase' sequences is heavily stunning experience. But somewhere, I feel that the movie has related to Steven Speilberg's 'Minority Report'.

As the performances - By Colin Farrel's good job, he carried off the character 'Douglas Quaid/ Hauser'. Director Len Wiseman is aptly casted his wife, Kate Beckinsale for the role 'Lori Quaid', after 'Underworld' Series. She plays the villainess with remarkable performance. Also Jessica Beil as 'Melina', the role enters in crucial situation and did a good job.  Others castings were good.

Len Wiseman shows his adroitness for making that must awakens the reality of this film and for these purpose the title must consist the tagline 'Is It Real?'. Specially, its Action sequences are an 'edge-of the-seat' pieces. The Drawback- Kurt Whimmer and Mark Bomback's Script development could have been better. In technicalities - Cinematography (Paul Cameron), Editing (Christian Wagner) and Original Scores (Harry Gregson - Williams) are impressive and strong backings. Especially, the Fight Scene at 'Rekall' Centre (Douglas Quaid's Gunshots to the armed Police Officers), attractive. Its Production Design and Visual Effects are top-notch.

Grade:  'Total Recall', a Decent 'Scientific-Action Thriller'
Rating:  3/5
