' Bhaskar - The Rascal ' - Review
The hit combo of Mammootty
and the Director Sidique again happened after a long gap of 12 years, with
their new offer, the movie ‘Bhaskar - The Rascal’ is released 15 April 2015.
The movie received mixed opinions from viewers. Nayanthara, Sanoop, Anikha,
Janardhanan, J.D.Chakravarthy, Saju Navodaya, Shajon, Harisree Ashokan etc.are
the other leading cast.
Story
Bhaskar (Mammootty) a rich business
man and a widower. He is very short
tempered and his all deals ends in action. So his son Aadhi (Sanoop) is in trouble by this character of Bhaskar. Shivani (Anikha)
is Aadi’s best friend and she lives with her Mother named Hima (Nayanthara), a
business woman who is also a widow. The Kids have wish to become as siblings
and they want their parents to be married each other. Bhaskar likes Hima and so
he interests in that deal. But Hima has a problem in her past life.
Movie outlook
- Storyline has impressive sides and satisfy you with some engaging parts. The first half of its, good moments with colourful visuals and other bonuses. But the Second half leads to more crucial turns and the pace falls down.
- Drawbacks: Some parts of the Second half and the Climax.
Acting
- Mammootty made an awesome performance in his role 'Bhaskar' as a lovable Rascal.
- A neat performance by Nayanthara and she looks gorgeous.
- Anikha and Sanoop, the child characters' performance is sweet.
- Saju Navodaya's jokes make laugh you.
- Other cast are good.
Technicalities
- Even though some minuses have the screenplay, the Direction hides it.
- Visuals, Cuts, Musical scores, the Sets etc. are up to the marks.
Grade: Watchable

' Ivan Maryadaraman ' - Only One is better than the Other remakes of 'Maryadaramanna'
'Ivan Maryadaraman' is better
than the other remakes of the Original, the Telugu film 'Maryadaramana'. Dileep
is handling the protagonist role in Malayalam and it is directed by debut
Suresh Divakar. Naginudu, Sudheer, Nikkigal rani, Kailash etc.and Suraj
Venjaramoodu. It is released 04 / 04 / 2015 and the opinions are mixed.
Story
Ramachandran aka Ramu ( Dileep
), a decent man who working as an employee in a Rice Mill in Pune. A Bicycle is
Ramu’s soul mate. But he meets some
difficulties and then he decides to buy an auto rickshaw to settle his life.
Ramu’s deceased parents deposited a big
amount of money for him in the Post-Office of their native place. Then Ramu
goes to that Village. But there has a
problem waiting for him, a Family waits
to kill Ramu because of a revenge upon his father.
Movie Outlook
- It is remade with exact sequences and managed the same pace of the Original version. With adding a few changes in dialogues & a few new parts.
- Drawbacks: Some Complications have in the second half, Climax could have been better.
Acting
- Dileep is apt for the role in Malayalam. There is nothing other options. He performed well.
- Nikkigal Rani is cute and pretty for her role.
- Naginudu, the same actor of Original, playing the same ‘Villain’ character with the same gestures and look.
- Suraj Venjaramoodu's voice well lends with the Cycle.
- Other rest of the cast performed good.
Technicalities
- Direction is just Ok.
- In the screenplay nothing much added than Original.
- Well shots, Cuts, the sets etc. good.
- Some Bg scores of Original is again blended in some parts as well as tracks. Songs are soothing.
Grade: a 'Dileep' treat.

' Komban ' - Review
‘Komban’ is an out-and-out
mass and emotional movie by the director Muthaiyaa. Karthi as the title role
'Komban', the protagonist and the other roles featuring by Rajkiran, Thambi
Ramaiyaa, Lakshmi Menon, Kovai Sarala, Super Subbarayan, I.M. Vijayan etc in the movie. It is released recently with good responses.
Story
Pandian ( Karthi ), a rural
youngster who is very quick tempered when he meets the situations of
illegalities. So he is known as with the nick name ‘Komban’. He lives with his
mother (Kovai Sarala) in a village. Komban falls in love with the girl
named Pazhani (Lakshmi Menon ), the
daughter of Muthaiyaa ( Rajkiran ), who likes peace. Komban married Pazhani and
then these all are lives in the Komban’s home. In their life, a village mobster Ramasamy (Super Subbarayan ) crosses the path and the relation of Komban and
Muthaiyaa becomes crucial.
Movie Outlook
- Komban is Completely entertaining with all stuffs, like a family drama as well as a Mass action thriller.
- Keeps a well pace in all sides specially in thrilling ‘Climax’.
Acting
- Karthi is totally awesome as 'Komban'.
- Rajkiran made an amazing performance in his role 'Muthaiyaa'.
- Thambi Ramaiyaa, Lakshmi Menon and Kovai Sarala are nicely handling their parts.
- As a stupendous appearance, Super Subbarayan is apt for the 'Villain' character.
Technicalities
- The Director wrapped well with a balanced script.
- R.Velraj's Shots, Cuts by Praveen.L, Musical scores of G.V.Prakashkumar and the Fights of Dilip Subbarayan etc. are noteworthy.

' Oru Vadakkan Selfie ' - Review
This ‘Selfie’ taken only for
Youth. ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’, a debut directorial of G.Prajith and It is
scripted by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Manjima Mohan
etc.featuring the main characters in the movie and it garnered mixed reviews.
Story
Umesh ( Nivin Pauly ), an
engineering student who has 42 supplementary to complete his course. He is a
carefree young man and he has a will to making a film. Daisy ( Manjima Mohan )
is a neighboring girl of Umesh and he loves her. Umesh goes to Chennai to fulfilling his wish
and he accidentally meet Daisy in the train journey. But he misses her in
Chennai. He returns back to his native place with disappointment that he couldn’t
achieve his aim in film making. But there has a crucial problem in his house
because of Daisy.
Movie Outlook
- 'Oru Vadakkan Selfie' is totally a youthful theme with entertaining elements fun, songs and thrills.
- Drawbacks: Silly Jokes in the Second half.
Acting
- Nivin Pauly excellently handled his character as 'Umesh'
- Aju Varghese as 'Shaji', is totally for fun filled.
- Manjima Mohan as 'Daisy', could have been done well.
- Although the role is new for Vineeth Sreenivasan, It’s in his usual shades and with silly jocks.
- Other cast are good.
Technicalities
- Director’s job is well and he knows the pulse of Youth.
- Script is Good.
- The Visuals, Edits, Musical & Bg scores are remarkably positive factors
Grade: Youthful
