'Ladies & Gentleman' - Review

'Ladies & Gentleman' is a best choice for the viewers in this festive - vacation time. The film directed by Sidique and Mohanlal is handling the 'protagonist' character and the others; Mamtha Mohandas, Meera Jasmine, Padmapriya, Kalabhavan Shajon etc.. 'Ladies & Gentleman' is released today and it bagged the good responses.

Story
Chandrabose (Mohanlal), is a gentleman with pleasing and positive attitude. Three young women enter and involves in his life that make some unexpected events leading to peculiar twists. The story happens in the background of  IT industries.

'Ladies & Gentleman' - story moves on the right track and it fills with commercial ingredients like humours, emotions, melodramas etc. The first and second half holds the tempo, even in the main parts.

Mohanlal gives a vital with his positive attitude to his character 'chandrabose' and his performance is the pillar of entertainment and the aptness, He is the 'Gentleman'. The ladies:- Mamtha Mohandas, Padmapriya, Meera Jasmine and Mithra Kurian do a fine job in their each roles. Kalabhavan Shajon does at his best, he offers good comic numbers with Mohanlal and their on-screen chemistry is superb. Other actors, Krish.J.Sathar, Manoj.K.Jayan, Ganesh Kumar, Sivaji Guruvayoor makes some milestones in their performances.

'Ladies & Gentleman' has a tight script but Sidique brilliantly handles it and he installs new dimensions in his creativity (specially in songs). And he cleverly brings the heroism of Mohanlal. The technicalities are strong backing and benefits; mainly the colorful visuals of Satheesh Kurup, edit by K.R.Shekhar, Musics & Bg of Ratheesh vega, Its Arts, Costumes & Makeup department and the Cg & visual effects give a elegance mood.

Grade:   A 'Gentleman' Entertainer

'Emmanuel' - Review

'Emmanuel' portrays the oppressive lifestyle of an insurance firm which neglecting the human rights & ethics and existing only for profit. The film directed by Laljose and Mammootty playing the 'title' character. Emmanuel is a good rendering of a significant concept and which opinions are positive.

Story
Emmanuel (Mammootty) working in a book publishing company but in fate that company is closed down and his life falls in crisis. And then he joins in an insurance firm as a business executive and there he meets some difficulties and he tries to overcome them with his goodness.

Emmanuel story is quite good as well as its first half sequences contain simple & soft and second half some more tragic situations which a little dragging, its a tiny drawback.

Mammootty's performance is the best in his role 'Emmanuel' and he creates some hilarious as well as tragic states. (especially the role appears in the interview, events in that firm etc.). Fahad Fasil does a good job in his character as sales head 'Jeevan', easily handles it. The other roles' performances are good like the actors debut heroine Reenu Mathews, Nedumudi Venu, P.Balachandran, Sunil Sugatha, Muktha etc. Mainly actress Sukumari (she left us recently) perfectly handles her role and she makes a standing claps with a superb dialogue.

Lal Jose brings a clean family entertainer for viewers and his making style is good and ravishing. Debut writer Vijeesh.A.C's script is fine which cleanly follows the facing problems of employees in an insurance firm, but the drawback is sentimental workout in second half, is beyond the limits. Pradeep Nair's D.O.P gives a classy and colorful touch and Ranjan's edit is well cut. The Bg and Music of Afsal Yusuf, is nice & apt.

Grade:  'Simple' Emmanuel
Rating:  3.5 / 5

'Amen' - Review

Amen is at unrealistic feel and fills with a lot of heavenly situations, so the film is a worth watch and it's a new experience. The film is, from the director Lijo Jose Pellisery, in which Indrajith, Fahad Fasil, Kalabhavan Mani, Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Swathi Reddy etc. are the lead actors. Amen's responses are mostly fair and the film is currently going well in theatres.

Story
Amen tells a love story of Solomon (Fahad Fasil) and Shoshanna (Swathi Reddy) in the backdrop of a village named 'Kumarangari'. The people and the church are involved in between their relationship.

Amen's story is quite good with the factors romcom and revenge, but its treatment is wholly different. Scenes gives a surreal effect and some dialogues are side splitting, all the same some obscenes contains in it.

Amen is more rewarding with the well performances of Indrajith, Fahad Fasil, Joy Mathew, Sunil Sugatha, Nandhu, Swathi Reddy, Kulapulli Leela and all were did a good job. But actor Magarandh's role isn't interesting because he is overdoing.

Lijo Jose cleverly made it and I'm more surprised that he perfectly blend his trademarks (has applied in his previous films were action thrillers) like wide angle & slow motion shots for a comedy satire. While P.S.Rafeeq 's script is enjoyable, the film makes some tedious mood in somewhere (if the time is little more reducing it would be more interesting). The visuals of Abhinand Ramanujam gives a dreamlike effect to the film and the Manoj's editing is cleanly follows it. Prasanth Pillai's Bg score and Musics; some are good and some are drags it. I really liked the title song ''aathmaavin...''.

Grade:  'Divine and Surreal' Amen
Rating:  3.5/5
